DIGITAL FUTURE OF HEALTHCARE

Healthcare is related to every part of society. An efficient healthcare system can contribute to a significant part of a country's economy, development, and industrialization.

Highly trained healthcare professionals use their extensive knowledge and resources to impact patient health outcomes. But healthcare professionals all over the world are facing many challenges. The Covid-19 pandemic has put immense pressure on doctors and nurses in caring for patients more than ever before. The research indicates that healthcare professionals are concerned about a global shortage of doctors and nurses. Many have indicated they have an intention to leave the profession or change roles as a result of burnout. To reverse the challenge, the healthcare professionals are calling for better well-being support, as well as putting aside time to provide training and support in new technologies that will help them work more efficiently, preventing technology from being viewed as a burden.

With the growing challenges in the years ahead, what can we do to help prepare healthcare professionals for the next decade? What skills will be required to provide the best care for patients? How will care be provided? And how will technological developments impact healthcare?

The healthcare industry has seen rapid growth in the use of technology in healthcare and the healthcare professionals expect to continue that trend for the next decade. However, successful digital transformation in the health sector is not a simple matter of technical change but requires a complex adaptive change in human attitudes and skills as well as in the organization of work and the related legal and financial frameworks. Digital technologies only provide the tools and cannot transform the health sector on its own but need to be put to productive use by the health workers and patients. SEADOC’s call to action:

  • Brings healthcare providers together in a social network for doctors, nurses, and other healthcare professionals - the platform allows them to connect, and share resources, hence improving the productivity of the health sector.
  • To improve the quality of care without adding workload, SEADOC provides the tools for accredited doctors to set the virtual consultation for their remote patients.
  • Exploring the early diagnosis tools for remote patients to have the best care in the modern healthcare setting.

We look forward to working with industry leaders, institutions, and of course the healthcare professionals to ensure that we keep our focus on future challenges and how we can work together to support healthcare professionals to provide the best possible care in the next years ahead.
